Debevoise incorporates a new international director to the Fund and Investment Management Group

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has announced that John Anderson is joining the firm’s London office as an international advisor and a member of the Fund / Investment Management and Private Equity Groups. Anderson rejoins the firm after six years as General Counsel at Park Square Capital, a leading private debt manager. He had previously spent 14 years at Debevoise at the company’s offices in New York and London. Anderson has deep experience in all aspects of fund formation, including with Luxembourg and non-European fund structures, especially with regard to superior and subordinated credit fund strategies. He has also regularly advised on separate account arrangements, including for institutional EU clients with complex tax and regulatory issues. Anderson is licensed to practice in New York. The Debevoise Fund / Investment Management Group in Europe is one of the few to have high-level professionals in the formation of qualified funds in English and in the United States on the ground. It is one of the most active in the market and continues to grow, most recently with the opening of a new office in Luxembourg. The European team is part of an integrated global practice that has advised sponsors or investors of more than 2,800 private investment funds worldwide, with a committed capital of more than $ 3 trillion. Geoffrey Kittredge, President of the European Investment and Fund Management Group at Debevoise, comments: “We are delighted to welcome John back to the team. He adds an impressive set of advisory skills on a wide variety of fundraising topics, and his knowledge of the credit fund industry will be of particular benefit to several of our clients. ” John Anderson, international lawyer for Debevoise, comments: “The past six years have been very pleasant, and I have had the privilege of working alongside extremely talented colleagues. He has given me great appreciation for the real-world concerns of internal advisers to private investment fund managers and advisers; lessons I am eager to apply in my new role in Debevoise. Returning to the company was a great opportunity to re-fit into a high-caliber team, and I am excited to play my part in its continued success. ” Robin Doumar, managing partner of Park Square Capital, comments: “John has played a significant role in the growth of Park Square, and has been instrumental in establishing our internal legal team. Now he is leaving with best wishes to rejoin Debevoise, a law firm that we have worked with since Park Square was founded. I am confident that John will be very successful in his new role, and I look forward to continuing our work with him and the larger Debevoise team. ”
